Speed
Velocity
Velocity is the vector form of speed. Vectors are quantities that have both a size and a direction. Velocity is speed in a direction.
If two objects are travelling in opposite directions, one will have positive velocity and the other negative. To calculate velocity, we have to take into account the direction of the distance. Displacement is the vector form of distance and can be positive or negative depending on its direction. |
