Experiment to investigate the effect of the ratio of coils between the primary and secondary coil and the output volatage
Hypothesis
I think that if we increase the number of coils on the secondary transformer, we will increase the output voltage. I think the output voltage will be directly proportional to the ratio of the coils. Method We set up the circuit above and measured the output voltage of the secondary coil. We kept the voltage across the primary coil constant at 24V. We kept the number of coils in the primary coil constant at 1000 but changed the number of coils on the secondary coil. Results |
Conclusion
We can see from the graph that the output voltage is proportional to the ratio between the number of turns in the primary and secondary coil because the graph is a straight line. The gradient of the graph is 24V, which is the input voltage! That means the formula to calculate the output voltage is V2=V1*(N2/N1) |
